Andrew Ehinger is a multiple Emmy Award winning television reporter with three decades of experience in front of the camera. Currently he is working as a broadcast news and business consultant for Stringr.com in New York City. Before that he spent 23 years working as a general assignment and consumer technology reporter for News 12 Long Island in Bethpage, New York. His sponsored weekly tech series "The Download" aired for 17 years and was the first weekly series to air across all News 12 Network stations.
Past television news directors have called Andrew's style unique, engaging and informative. His energetic personality, especially when reporting live from the field, has a way of grabbing the viewer's attention and holding it through the entire report. Andrew notes, "I once heard a well respected reporter say 'you want to make the viewer look up from cutting carrots for dinner to watch your story.' I loved that analogy and strive every day to wake viewers up with something they're going to want to watch."
In 2017 Andrew won his third New York Emmy Award for best Spot News Reporting. In 2014 he also was awarded a New York Emmy in the General Assignment Reporting category. Andrew won his first Emmy in the Business and Consumer category in 2001. He also has been nominated numerous times including in the On-Camera Talent: Specialty Assignment category for "The Download."
Andrew was one of only six New York television reporters honored for their work on and after September 11th by the New York Press Club. Andrew won the "NYPC Attack on America 9/11 Best Continuing Coverage Award" in 2002. The judges praised him for his multi-part series, "Eyes in the Sky" an inside look at NATO's historic roll in protecting the skies over New York City and America immediately after 9/11.
Andrew lives in New York City.
